CompHub at IFA 2026: Building the Future of PC Hardware in Ireland

In 2026, CompHub took an important step forward by attending IFA in Berlin — one of the world's largest technology trade shows. We went to look beyond today's products and understand where the PC hardware market is heading.

  • Why attending IFA matters for CompHub and our customers
  • What we learned from hardware manufacturers and suppliers
  • New opportunities for PCs, monitors, peripherals and components
  • How stronger supplier relationships could improve choice and pricing in Ireland
  • Our plans for the next stage of CompHub

CompHub at IFA 2026: Building the Future of PC Hardware in Ireland

For CompHub, 2026 has been a year of growth, but growth is not only about selling more computers. It is also about understanding where the technology industry is going and finding better ways to serve customers in Ireland. That is one of the main reasons we travelled to Berlin to attend IFA 2026. IFA brings together some of the biggest names in consumer technology, hardware and electronics, giving us the opportunity to see new products, meet companies behind them and understand the direction of the market. For a growing Irish PC store, being able to have these conversations in person is very different from simply looking at products online. It gives us a chance to build relationships that could influence what CompHub can offer in the future.

Why Did CompHub Go to IFA 2026?

Our goal at IFA was not simply to walk around the show and look at new technology. We wanted to meet manufacturers, distributors and technology companies and start building relationships that can help CompHub develop further. The PC hardware market is constantly changing, with new processors, graphics cards, memory, storage, monitors and peripherals appearing every year. For a company operating in Ireland, having access to the right products at competitive prices can make a significant difference. We wanted to understand what opportunities are available to a growing Irish retailer and what it would take to bring more of these products to our customers. IFA gave us the opportunity to have conversations that would be difficult to have through emails alone.

Looking Beyond the Products

One of the most interesting parts of IFA was seeing how large technology companies present their products and how quickly the industry is developing. We visited stands from companies working across different parts of the PC and technology market, including AMD, HATOR, KingSpec and many other manufacturers. We were able to see products directly, discuss upcoming technologies and learn more about how different companies operate. For CompHub, this is valuable because we do not want to simply follow whatever products happen to be available through a distributor. We want to understand the market before making decisions about what we should stock and what could genuinely be useful to our customers.

What Could This Mean for Customers in Ireland?

The biggest reason we invest time into events like IFA is simple: everything we do should eventually benefit the customer. Better relationships with manufacturers and distributors can potentially mean access to a wider range of products, more competitive pricing, new product launches and better availability. It can also help us discover products that are not yet widely available in the Irish market. Our aim is to make CompHub more than a place where you buy a pre-built gaming PC. We want to create a store where customers can find the components, monitors and peripherals they actually need, while also having someone available to help them make the right choice.

We Are Exploring More Than Gaming PCs

Gaming PCs will remain an important part of CompHub, but our plans are becoming broader. At IFA, we spent time looking at monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, storage, memory and other PC-related products. These are all areas where we see an opportunity to expand what we offer. Instead of trying to stock everything, our goal is to build a carefully selected range that makes sense for different types of customers. Whether someone is building their first gaming setup, upgrading an existing computer, working from home or looking for a complete desk setup, we want CompHub to become a place where they can find more of what they need.

Building Better Relationships With Manufacturers

One of the biggest lessons from IFA is that building a successful technology business is about relationships as much as products. Speaking directly with companies allows us to understand their plans, ask questions and explain what customers in Ireland are looking for. We are particularly interested in exploring opportunities that could allow CompHub to work more closely with manufacturers and distributors as we grow. These relationships will not change overnight, but starting those conversations is an important step. Our ambition is to gradually move towards a stronger supply network, giving us more flexibility when choosing which products to sell and making it easier to bring new technology to the Irish market.

What Opportunities Will We Explore?

There are several areas we want to explore following IFA 2026. One is expanding our range of gaming monitors and PC peripherals, giving customers more options across different price points and specifications. Another is improving our access to components such as SSDs, memory, cases and cooling products. We are also interested in opportunities to work more directly with manufacturers and distributors rather than relying on a limited number of supply channels. Not every conversation we had at IFA will turn into a partnership, and we do not want to make promises before anything is confirmed. However, the event has opened doors and given us new contacts that we can continue working with after the show.

Our Goal Is to Build Something Different

CompHub started with a simple idea: building a computer should be about the person buying it, not just a list of specifications. That idea is still at the centre of what we are doing. As we grow, we want to keep the personal approach while developing the range, infrastructure and supplier network of a much larger technology retailer. We want customers to be able to come to CompHub for advice, components, complete systems and future upgrades without feeling that they are simply being pushed towards the most expensive option. Our goal is to build a company that understands the Irish PC market and responds to what local customers actually want.

What Comes Next for CompHub?

IFA 2026 is not the end of this process. In many ways, it is the beginning of the next stage. The conversations we had in Berlin will continue as we evaluate new suppliers, products and potential partnerships. Over the coming months, we want to expand the CompHub product range carefully, improve availability and introduce more options for customers looking for complete PC setups. We also want to continue developing our online store so that buying technology in Ireland becomes simpler and more transparent. Our immediate focus is not to become the biggest retailer overnight. It is to build a stronger foundation, earn customer trust and create a CompHub that can continue growing for years to come.

Why IFA Matters to CompHub

For a small but growing Irish technology company, attending an international event such as IFA is a significant step. It allows us to see the industry from a different perspective and understand that there are many opportunities beyond the products currently sitting on a retailer's website. We returned from Berlin with new ideas, new contacts and a clearer understanding of where we want CompHub to go. There is still a lot of work ahead, and not every opportunity will become reality. But that is exactly why we went. CompHub is still growing, and we want to build that growth around better products, better relationships and ultimately a better experience for customers in Ireland.

IFA 2026 was one step in that journey. The next step is turning the conversations, ideas and opportunities we found in Berlin into something our customers can actually see and benefit from.
